Simply You

Simply You

Dear You,

Oh how I've missed you! You have been on my mind and in my prayers, I hope you've been well!

Today I wanna talk about makeup. Yay!! Finally a "makeup" post (it's about time, I know). I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to makeup, more love than hate though. I love it, I love the way it looks, I love the way it makes me look, I love buying it (yeah I'm a $$$ spender haha not really the best habit to have but.... *shrugs shoulders*). I hate (but not really hate cause hate is such a strong word, I hate using the word hate lol) ... I dislike putting it on cause it takes me forever and I want it to look perfect, I dislike having to clean everything up after I put it on cause I'm lazy, and I dislike that everything runs out eventually and you have to buy more -_-

But overall I love makeup hehe

So my everyday makeup "routine" is pretty simple. (And when I say everyday I mean like on days when I feel like wearing makeup cause I don't actually wear makeup everyday *shrugs shoulders again*). Because I don't put it on everyday I need something that I can do quickly and still look nice. That typically just includes foundation, concealer, bronzer, brow gel (my brows be crazy), highlighter and my favorite, MASCARA.

So here are the exact products that I use right now and how I use them. ( I'll go in order of how I apply)

MILANI Prime Perfection - all over face and neck application

L'OREAL Lumi Glotion - I apply this all along the sides of my face first and then continue to rub in throughout the rest of my face

E.L.F. Liquid Highlighter - I like for my skin to look really glowy so I use this all over my face. This one is very illuminating so you don't need to apply much for that all glowy makeup look.

MILANI Make It Dewy Setting Spray - Again I like for my skin to glow so I use this hydrating setting spray and it works wonders! It is seriously the best for getting that all over glow. I spray this once before foundation, and then again once I finish my makeup look. If you don't want your skin super glowy I also use the WET N WILD Photofocus Setting Spray, it keeps your makeup set in place and doesn't leave you looking oily.

FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation - I use the shade 260 and I use a makeup sponge to apply all over my face and neck. (I don't have a brand for the sponge I use, I just buy one I like at Ross or Marshalls)

WET N WILD Makeup Stick Concealer - I apply this under my eyes, on my chin, and between my brows/middle of my forehead. I occasionally use the Makeup Stick Contour as well (along my cheekbone and hairline/forehead) and then blend all together with my makeup sponge.

MILANI Baked Bronzer - I apply this on my cheeks and along my forehead/hairline to add to my contour (when needed).

WET N WILD MegaGlo Highlighting Powder - This highlighter is bomb, I don't always use it though because the e.l.f. liquid highlighter that I apply to my face already gives me a good highlight. But if you want just a powder highlighter this one is really good. I use the shade Precious Petals.

BROW GEL - I don't have a brand or name for the one I have, my mom bought some makeup from Estee Lauder and it came free in a gift bag lol but I love it and use it all the time. I have naturally dark, thick brows so I don't color them in or anything but I use the gel because they grow pretty wild and need to be tamed. (if you have any recommendations on a brow gel let me know in the comments cause mine's running out!)

ESSENCE Volume Stylist Lash Extension Mascara - And last but not least Mascara! My favorite! Mascara always has my back, and on those days that I don't want to put on full makeup but still wanna look like I at least tried, I just put on some mascara and I'm good to go. (Side note: I didn't put eyeliner on here cause I don't always use it, I mostly just stick to mascara, but when I do, I use the KAT VON D Tattoo Liner, it's easy to apply and doesn't smear on my eyelids the way other eyeliners do.)

I know it seems like a lot (and probably like it would take longer than 15 minutes lol) but that's just cause I talk a lot and added a lot of side notes. I don't always do all of those steps, especially when I'm rushing, but that's the good thing about makeup, we can always change it and it works so many different ways, it just depends on the look you're going for.

But I do wanna really brag on the mascara I use because it is so good! Lashes are so big right now, everyone wants the best looking lashes, but I know sometimes we don't always want to put on falsies. This mascara adds so much length to lashes, I love it. Now, everyone's lashes are different, my lashes are naturally dark, curled, and medium-ish length. So I typcally look for  a mascara that will give me more length than anything else. Below are pics of my lashes without and with the mascara. And the last picture (on the right) is the Essence Volume Stylist Lash Extension mascara.

Thanks for reading this super long post and I hope some of these products work for you! Let me know what you think, or if you have any recommendations or products that you use that you absolutely love, I would love to hear about them in the comments. And remember, everyone's skin is different, so not everything that someone else uses is going to work for you. Don't be afraid to try new things and experiment with your makeup to find what works. You're beautiful and your loved. Always live life to the fullest and be simply you. xxx

Love, Vanessa
